Farm News
April 2006 - We have just come home from the
North American Alpaca Show in Springfield, MA.
Meghan & Lakota won a 4th place ribbon in Junior
Showmanship. The other ribbon in the picture is an
exhibitor ribbon for Junior Obstacle. Meg was very
proud of Lakota in the obstacles. For his first time, he
did well going over the bridge!
April 2006 - We have just launched our new
website. We hope you enjoy it!
May 2006 - We have just come home from the MAPACA
Jubilee in Pennsylvania.
Jenna & Meghan participated in large Performance classes and they both had fun!
Lakota placed 6th in a beige juvenile FF Halter class.
May 2006 - I guess you would say we survived NEAF. It
was held Mother's Day weekend at the Hopkington Fairgrounds in NH. It was very wet! It was also very busy. Since it was held in conjunction with the NH Sheep & Wool show, there were a lot of 'fiber' people. WE would like to thank everyone who braved the weather & stopped in!
May 2006 - We have just purchased Chantilley Lace from
Foss Mountain (Center Eaton, NH). She arrived home on May 21.
May 27th & 28th were our shearing days. With temps coming close to 90, I'm sure all the alpacas appreciated it!
Cria News - Our first born gave birth to her first cria on May 28th. Cynjim's Donoma have a healthy black little boy (name TBA). Congrats to Lennie & Sue Foss of Elf-Paca Meadows, Rochester NH.

August 2006 - Cal's son has a name, Sallie's Fen Lukas.
This month we have finished the boy's "lower forty" field.
They are enjoying it! We are now getting ready for our
Open house & also Thunder Rose's cria.
September 2006 - We had our first "Alpacas in Strafford" Open House. All in all it was a good day.
We are currently on break from the Rochester Fair, we go back on Sunday, the 24th. Lakota & Prince went to the fair on Wednesday to do an obstacle course. Jenna placed 2nd and Meghan placed 4th.
We are waiting patiently for Rose's cria to arrive. She is taking her time with this one!
Chantilley left Thursday, the 21st, for Foss Mountain Alpaca Farm. We hope she likes El Cobre and comes home soon!
September 28th, 2006 - Rose had her baby! a 17 lb 14 oz little boy. We have named him Wakiya (which is Lakota for Thunder). We have just listed him on our herd page.
October 20th, 2006 - Acadia had her baby on the 17th! A 15 lb 4 oz little boy. We have unofficially named him Moki (which is Hopi for Deer). We have also returned from the New England Coastal Classic. Meghan and Lakota won 4th place in each the Obstacle & Performance classes. Lakota also won a 5th place ribbon for Yearling Bred & Owned Male light. Amitola won a 2nd place ribbon for her fleece in the Juvenile Med Brown Fleece category. That is the end of our fall show season. We start up again at the North American Alpaca Show at the end of March.
January 30, 2007 - Wow, it's been a while since I've written 'our news'. So far the winter has been quiet. Show season is just around the corner. We start up again at the North American Alpaca Show at the end of March. We will also be at the New Hampshire Sheep & Wool Festival in May.
February 26, 2007 - Snow has come! We just wish the temps would stay consistant! As of this writing it is 33 degrees. With the melting & freezing, it is hard to keep up. We are preparing for show season. Right now our plan is to head to the North American. Cyndi will be at the NH Sheep & Wool show but we will not be bringing any alpacas. We took some new pictures (Yesterday was a nice day for them).
April 6, 2007 - Snow has come again! Just when we thought it was over, we received 8 inches of snow yesterday. We enjoyed decent weather for the North American Alpaca show. Meghan came home with some ribbons, including second place in JR. Showmanship with Amitola. She also competed in the adult class in Public Relations and won 4th & 6th place for Elf-Paca Meadows. Next up, the New England Alpaca Fest at the NH Sheep & Wool show. Most likely we will not have any animals there, but Cyndi will be working at the Fleece Show.
July 2007 - Wow 3 months with out an update! The New England Alpaca Fest at the NH Sheep & Wool show went well. Both fleeces Cyndi brought earned ribbons and sold very quickly. Cyndi learned alot working there! Meghan won prizes at the 4H Camelid shows. She borrowed Elf-Paca Meadow's alpaca, Magic. Those 2 seem to make an excellent team! We are starting to make plans for the Alpacas in Strafford Open House on Labor day. Cyndi is also working on the alpacas at The Rochester Fair. Hopefully more information will be forthcoming!
Sept 2007 - Well, the Rochester fair is behind us. It went very well. We had a lot of fun.
We are now on baby watch, hopefully a new cria in a day or so!
Next up for us is the NECC in New Gloucester Maine. Wakiya & Moki will be making the trip. They handled themselves very well at Rochester so I think they will behave for Maine!
Oct 2007 - Cynjim went to Maine. Moki received a 6th place ribbon in Halter & with Meghan's help he also received a 6th place in performance. The team of Jenna and Wakiya won a 3rd place ribbon in performance. the girls had a lot of fun & met new friends..
Baby watch is over, Acadia had a med brown girl, which we are calling Cynjim's Catori.
Now for breeding news...We are breeding Rose to Calvados. Ami & Chantilley went to Foss Mountain Alpacas (Center Eaton, NH ), where Chantilley is being bred to their new stud Sammy and Ami is being bred to Orion. Acadia will either be bred to Crown Point Alpacas' herdsire Sol or back to Cal. That decision is still up in the air.

March 2008 - Spring is here? What a crazy winter. We are starting to see some of the ground in our paths to the barn (first time since Dec 6th!) Snow removal is still going on around the barns. Melting snow is leading to floodin problems we want to keep under control. Cyndi & Meghan will be heading to the North American Alpaca Show in April. We will be located with the Alpaca Package Resource group. We will not be bringing any alpacas, but will be there to help the group.
June 2008 - We have been busy! We really enjoyed going to NAAS, without the stress of showing alpacas. It was great to help the other farms showing theirs! Meghan did get to spend some time in the show ring. She did the youth rings and also some halter classes for the other APR farms.
We had a visitor for about a month, Elf's Shelly came here to hang out with Tori. Now Shelly is home and she took Tori with her. Tori now gets to hang out with girls her own age.
Next in our game plan, we are getting ready for Alpaca Package Resource's Pen sale. It will be held at Elf's Garden Center on August 2. A flyer has been added to the events page with all of the details.
